Where are you located? The Boy and Girls Club of Sherman has one Club facility, located at 1500 North Luckett. From Texoma Parkway you will follow the signs to Austin College. Take Grand Avenue and proceed over the viaduct (bridge). Take an immediate right at the bottom of the viaduct. The Club is at the end of the road at the right. (If you look to the right while going over the viaduct, you will see the Club.)
What time are you open? Club hours vary depending on the time of the year.
After school program hours are 3:00pm - 6:00pm. Office hours are from 10:00am- 6:00pm. Summer hours are 7:45am- 5:15pm. Holiday hours are from 8am-5:15pm.
The Boys and Girls Club is open for some holidays and school breaks. The hours for these days are 8:00am- 5:15 p.m. The Club closes the last week of summer for staff vacations and Club cleaning. The Club also closes for some holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, July 4th, Memorial Day and Labor Day.
What is there to do? The Club has many activities and programs for members. Please view the Program & Services link for more information.
Can I play sports? Yes! The Club offers a golf program called the PGA Golf Academy in the Spring and Summer, taught by PGA Professional Mike Fish, Club staff and community volunteers. The Club also offers a series of competitive golf tournaments for boys and girls ages 6 - 18 during the summer through the Texoma Junior Golf Association (formerly the Tri-County Golf Association).
How much does it cost? All participants in the after school, Spring break, summer and sports leagues must have a current Club membership. Annual memberships are $30.00 and expire December 31st of the current year. A small school year membership fee is charged during the school year and can be paid monthly. There is also a activity fee for the summer, sports, sports camps and field trips, with the exception of the PGA Academy have additional fees which are available by contacting the Club. The Texoma Junior Golf Association requires a $30.00 membership which includes a t-shirt, Golfsmith card, sleeve of balls and tournament awards. Each tournament costs $30.00 and includes lunch for participants.
Why would I want to join? The Club offers safe, supervised programs and activities for kids to participate in. We have an 20 terminal computer lab loaded with educational software, two gymnasiums, a large gamesroom, movie room, crafts room and more. Homework help is available during the school year and popular field trips are offered during the summer. Chances are that some of your school mates attend the Club. The Club is a good place to make new friends and have fun.
How can I help? The Boys and Girls Club is always in need of some sort of help. It could be volunteering, making a material, monetary or equipment donation, helping us fill our wish list, becoming a Club sponsor or guest speaker in your area of profession. How can I make a donation? Donations to the Boys and Girls Club are tax deductible as the Club is a 501 (c) 3 organization. Contact the Club at (903) 892-9019 and our friendly staff will assist you in making your donation. Monetary donations may be sent to the Club at P.O. Box 452 in Sherman TX 75091. Receipt of all donations will be acknowledged with a letter, accompanied by our tax identification information for your tax records.
How can I volunteer? Contact the Boys and Girls Club reagarding volunteer needs. Criminal background checks are required for volunteer positions.
Can I Make a Planned Gift to the Boys and Girls Club? - The Boys and Girls Club established a Planned Giving Program in 2006. Making a Planned Gift is not as difficult as you may think.
